poke poke poke
today is valentine's day... so here i am wishing everyone a happy valentine's day... i got quite a handful of gifts... but it's not because i have a lot of valentines in school... lol... like just friend friend exchange sweets to one another then eat during class lor... but end up by recess time, i didnt feel hungry cause of those sweets i ate during some boring lessons... hehe
yesterday was our last chinese new year concert rehearsal... tomorrow being the actual day... another sec 4 senior and i were super duper uber upset with the sec 3s lah... dont know how they even do their work sia... and besides that, they still take things not seriously and full of complacency... before the planning of the concert even... after clarifying some points with them, i asked them if they had any problems... and they said so loud, "no problem!"... knowing them, i told them if they are so certain they will have no problem, i shouldn't be hearing any complains or see anything not done properly. and they replied me with an amplified "okay!"
end up yesterday was the last rehearsal already... and we dont see any proper plannings... any proper sequence of events and instructions... no proper duties being executed... everyone just played by ear... sometimes i would grab the chance when the sec 3s not around, i ask some sec 2s if they have got any feedback for the running of this concert and rehearsals... most of the points they said linked back to the sec 3s not giving them clear instructions during debrief... even during rehearsals they were running up and down, finding out and giving last minute informations... and both of us were like, "OMG!!"... first rehearsal having some doubts here and there never mind leh... last rehearsal already... tomorrow's the actual day... and the sec 3s being in charge are still so complacent... even one teacher who was overall-in-charge of the concert tells us that she will be here to give us instructions on the actual day... i felt insulted and wanted to practice some "taiji" and push the teacher out of the control room... but then again i thought that this was what the sec 3s asked for anyway... they ought to get some serious lecture from us manz... which they did after that lah... both of us usually do our scolding away from the teachers, away from the juniors... but yesterday the teacher overheard the conversation lah... by accident... but at least they were still on our side lah... it's not like they didn't know what and how the sec 3s have been
anywayz we also have a latecomer because someone went to get valentine's gift... wth
anywayz recently we got attached with us sound crew a new technical assistance [TA]... which apparently isn't of much help to us... he just wouldnt have any idea what we are doing... ending up talking out of point... blah blah blah... which can be super duper uber irritating when critical instructions have to be given to be executed... anywayz one incident yesterday was that there was a little complain from the performers on stage say that there's a loud ringing sound when the MC stand at the monitor speaker... feedback lah... so i told the people at the console to do the necessary actions to solve the problem lah... then the TA got the know about it... here's our conversation:
TA: maybe we can put the monitor speakers at the steps.
me: err... the steps are too small.
TA: we put some tables on the floor in front of the steps then put the monitor speaker on the table. [btw. he was refering to canteen table.]
me: it's not professional to have tables to put these monitors.
TA: why not we put behind the curtains.
me: the monitor speakers are for the dancers and performers to hear the music to dance to. if we put there the performers wont be able to hear the music clearly.
then there came to a point where he told us to leave our handphones and digital watches and other electronic devices in the control room... because even such items can cause feedback in the speakers... and we are like, "OMG!!"... even the teacher in charge of sound crew want to laugh but out of courtesy hold back her laughter... we like just pretend look outside but laugh really softly... by the way, he claimed he work in mediacorp before.
yea yea... this was the concert rehearsal... the last one in fact... we'll see how the actual concert goes
