wo, men's meeting

some day during last week... Mjay called to ask if i was free on 08th Dec 2007, saturday... so i replied like, "ya, super free!"... so he asked me to do sound for this Arrow service held at Rock Auditorium 6th floor overflow room... then i was like, okie okie, very happy... until at last he explained that it was a Women's Meeting... o.O

so there i was helping out with the sound and stuff... except that i was doing, pretty much, alone... so kinda lonely lah... but other than that, everything else went pretty smooth... kinda fun actually... the event started kinda way behind time though... then Jiahwa came in, first, and joined me at the soundboard... haha... finally got someone i know to accompany me... quite interestingly... they actually even rehearse the making of announcements... something i never see before... haha

and i took a picture after sound check when i had nothing to do

so the girls started flocking into the room... quite a huge lot turned up... haha... i think the attendance alone is quite about DARE's congregation size already lor... imagine together with the guys... ouch... so first it started with praise and worship... SianHwa got shocked that i was doing sound... so he came over and like taught me some mixing stuff... i just listened and obeyed him lah though i felt very uneasy... then i took some time to quickly brief Jiahwa about how i did the setup... so in case they did chase me out... i have someone on standby there

after which... Pauline, Pastor Benjamin's wife, took over the mic... and before she started, she went like, "ok, before i start, are there any guys around?"... then i was at the back eating my food illegally in the auditorium lah... so they didnt really see me... but Pauline and the girls spotted a guy... then he was like anxiously flashing his authorized photographer tag... lol... then after my food... Esther was like chasing me out liao... haha... probably cause they were talking about sensitive stuffs such as breasts, from what i heard just before i left... oops

then wanted to go studio one... but Lionel was not and would not be in studio... so went 4th floor see see the men's meeting lor... met Clement sitting outside the 4th floor overflow room... so we sat down talk talk lor... about random stuffs or whatsoever

after some time... i got a call that there was a video playback then apparently some problem cropped up... so i was like rushing back to 6th floor lah... just before i was about to enter the overflow room, this random girl whom i do not know at all just popped this question at me, "eh, are you Clara's brother?"... who else... referring to Eugene lor... then with the velocity and inertia i had at the moment, i could have almost lost my balance and fell due to the impact of that seemingly harmless and genuine question... took me about 5 seconds to regain my consciousness and reply, "err... i know Clara's brother but i am not Clara's brother!"... a little awkward lah

after that had a short break and light refreshments... yet another awkward incident... again i was walking past a particular group of girls... and one girl commented out loud, "oh... u're a guy?!"... and surprizingly... i saw Eugene's sister... i thought the family is away on holiday?

during the break... former pastor Louis dropped by 6th floor and brought his daughter along

when the break finished and Pauline was about to start the second-half of the event... again she checked if there were any guys around before she started... then somehow... row by row starting from the back row closest to the soundboard, the girls started turning around look at me... then i was at the soundboard lah... so i tried hiding behind the soundboard... but after a second, i had integrity and went out... haha

ok so that's about for the women's meeting... and no, i am not a women... i'm a sound GUY, for God's sake... after that went for dinner, or rather supper, with Esther and Jiahwa... and reached home around 2345... quickly showered and catch some sleep... the next day gonna serve all 4 service liao... though i have no officially-assigned duty

i'm running outta words... except that a picture speaks a thousand words... here's a picture that pretty much proves though we may be grownups... we're after all still the CHILD of the most high God... haha... tata
