yesterday was valentine's day... haha

wow... so long since i last blogged... actually is it long?... it's been like, 8 days?... oh well

actually this week could have been so boring... cause with chinese new year just around the corner (*wonders why is it called "around the corner*)... there aint many events been held on February... no events = no work... sobz... but hey... chinese new year rings the bell manz... first thing comes into mind... ANGBAOS!... or at least on the receiving end lah... haha... so wednesday, thursday and friday was spent visiting relatives and stuff... and having to go through the yearly routine of "wow you've grown so big" from relatives and all... haha... at the end was kinda tired lah... from all the going out and dressing up and doing my hair for how many consecutive days... ... it all ended on a friday... and especially my hair, needs a break manz... haha

weekend was spent at Indoor Stadium... Saturday was the setup and soundcheck day... reported at 4pm... and meh... just when i wanted to pass through the security guard, i kena stopped... "excuse me, you're not allowed to wear slippers you know?"... lol... i talkback lah... "i dont know"... the security guard, "i can't allow you to go in if you wear slippers leh"... then i said, "oh... so what you expect me to do? go home and change to shoes then come back again? the people are waiting for me inside already leh"... the security guard, "who's your leader, i want to speak to your leader."... then i said, "ok... i go inside and find him"... and i never came out... haha... of cause until the end of the day lah... but then i think this is bloody nonsense lah... later Mjay and Laurence also came in in slippers, then so did Jolyn... LOL. too bad for the security guard lor... but seriously... what else can we do in that point in time

and after today... honestly... i finally knew why soundcheck at indoor stadium is considered a warzone... haha... i was being the monitor engineer and Mjay the stage manager... so with communication between the two of us having to be direct, accurate and fast, there's bound to be some miscommunications and unhappiness one... so on the bad side, it's like as though Mjay and i are throwing grenades at each other, then we try to dodge them... and sometimes we're not satisfied with grenades, we fire the missiles from behind us... that kind... however on the good side, we actually can clear up our used ammunitions pretty fast and effectively... like after sound check, we sit down and talk and act as if nothing has happened... praise God eh?... forgot what time we manage to finish the checks and reach home... but i only remember i only slept for about 4 hours

so on Sunday... had to reach Indoor Stadium at 7am... sunday was just mainly some fine-tuning part also... and Sunday was also the time we used our missiles... figuratively lah... we had our biggest miscomm and things arent looking too good... but like i said, we clear up the used ammunitions and actually carry on with sound check... like within seconds... service wise... on the monitor side, i felt it was good and smooth lah... except for the part when Pastor Prince comes up... hmmm... but i did hear some news that the front-of-house mix aint good... and even from where Mjay and I were, and even with my in-ears on, i could hear the mad delays (aka echoes) that were been pumped up too much and going astray... lol

during sermon time Mjay and I went to 7-11 outside... just to get a drink and chill... from all the stress we had for the past few hours and the day before... hehe... however did find a few familiar faces out there as well... apparently we have a few DARE youths who pontank service also... tsk tsk... and after the sermon... we had an interesting time of watching the brass performing with the band a hokkien song... of which Foon was playing in it as well... haha... seeing him perform on stage was not the highlights lah, but mainly the past few rehearsals they had... but it sure was amazing... how crap the brass was can become audibly pleasant in like, 2 weeks

after service... Foon, Mjay and I went to Marina Square to eat... then play pool... then Mjay pang seh us as the two of us went to watch a movie... Kung Fu Dunk... and here's a review... "catch the movie while you still can"... haha... it's actually quite an enjoyable show lah... and also... do watch CJ7 also... haha... both quite same same and good

that marks the end of the week... never felt so fatigue by the end of the week before... must have been all the chinese new year... haha

as for the following week, which is this week... not much of an excitement... just that yesterday, wednesday, we had a meeting of sound and music ministry together, regarding sunday service sound check procedures... then today, just had work in the early morning... got to reach ROCK at 7am leh... omg!... but at least it wasnt a full day thing lah... so not so bad... haha
